Sharlene G. Ionescu is a principal and owner at Aesthetic Concept, a firm offering services in the fields of interior design and architecture.

Sharlene is a NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer in Canada and the United States; a Registered professional member of the Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia; a Registered Professional member of the Interior Designers of Canada; a Licensed Interior Designer in the State of New York; a Board member for the Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia – Vancouver Island Chapter; a NCIDQ Professional member, Exam Champion and Exam Ambassador (National Council for Interior Design Qualifications); and an Extended Board member on the New York State Board for Engineering and Interior Design at the Division of Licensing – Office of the Professions after serving 10 years as a Board Director.

A French native of Quebec City, Sharlene completed projects throughout North America, Europe and Africa. She has an extensive experience in residential design and commercial design. Restaurant, retail, corporate office and hospitality projects are a large part of her portfolio. Her various skills incorporate custom furniture designs, lighting design, code/standard analysis and Feng-Shui practice.

Her teaching experience consists of 10+ years as a College Professor at the award-winning and prestigious New York School of Interior Design in New York City; a University Teaching Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities – Interior Design Program of the Vancouver Island University in British Columbia; 20+ years as a mentor and peer reviewer in the trade.

Additional experience in her career consists of: Vice-President of City Centers for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) – New York Chapter; Chairperson for the National Council for the Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) at the New York City Examination Center and Director of the Board of the Interior Design Legislation in New York State (IDLNY).

Sharlene has been project manager in a wide range of symposiums and shows in North America. She participated in organizing the “Lifestyle for the New Millennium” exhibition for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

Sharlene is recognized for excellence in interior design and she is passionate about collaboration and education.
